What Customers Say About LG BH200 Super Blu Blu-Ray HD DVD Combo Player:

Product support for LG is non-existent. Following the instruction book's advice on what to do, I was not able to get the thing to function. Stuck in "please wait" and then shuts off. I was advised to send it back to the ONLY place in the country.in ALABAMA. Other reviewers have expressed their frustration with this product, the LG HD200 all format DVD player. After one year, theplayer just stopped playing. Contacting the manufacturer's US office did not solve the problem.

What ever you do, do not buy this product or this will happen to you too. So now, after paying over $500 on this piece of junk, I am stuck with a worthless object that is worth more in the trash than at my house. But, you can bet that I will NEVER EVER buy anything LG again. Well folks, I just got back from picking up my LG BH200 from the repair shop. It broke down after 1 year and now I am told by a repair shop that was recommended to me by LG that the parts it needs are no longer available from LG, that they can't fix it and that I should just throw it away. Although I never trusted LG products, I thought I would give it a try.

Popped in Blu Ray "Ratatouille," with no issues. Finally the Blu Ray "Kingdon Of Heaven." Beautiful. Thing even has a USB jack for images & music. Tried an audio disc first, then a regular dvd (which looked wonderful, great up-converting here), again with no problems. It feels great that I won't have to buy another copy of "Battle Of The Bulge." No issues on playback.

Now I got one box to play my digital media in the best presentation presently possible. Before even popping in a disc, updated the firmware through the unit's Ethernet with no problems. Then came "Batman Begins" on HD DVD, played well, menus and all, with the Hi-Def I had grown accustomed to. Even the delay on initial playback that I was warned of was not unusual or extended.

If not, the OPPO BDP-83 is the current best Blu-Ray player available. Sure it's not perfect, but few if any are. I guess that says how good of a machine this is (although $1600 is far too high). Highly recommended if you can find one. I am here on Amazon searching for a second BH200 for another room in my house. It's too bad they are long ago discontinued and now remaining new ones are going for $1,600 and used in the $700 range. I have found lots of firmware on various forums for my machine, this is truly an enthusiasts player.

When it worked the unit was great but now it's a big paper weight. of $69 plus S & H and parts could quickly pass the half way mark of the units original price of $239. The reset didn't work and the Repair Min. To me it seems it is a programing problem but LG will not cut loose with any info. I was happy with the LG BH200 Blu-Ray unit until 1 year had passed {just past the warranty) and now the player is stuck in the "Please Wait" mode after power up. When I contacted LG they gave me a reset procedure but also said that if it doesn't work I would have to send it in for repair. So off to the store for a different brand unless someone can tell me how to fix this thing.
